Dotee Doll

My first Dotee Doll. I just love these little ladies and intend to make more. Good way to use up all those extras we all have laying around.

I've been a poor blogger lately. Too many things going on in life. I did get so stitching done between events and just need to get some pictures taken to share. I did manage to take a picture of our cabana at our place in Gold Bar. This is my favorite place to create. I love all the windows, letting in all the summer sun, and in the winter there is a propane heater to keep me warm. All the flags are a part of our 4th of July celebration. My husband built the little trailer to tow behind our golf cart, and it got some spicing up for the 4th also. We spend five days a week year round in Gold Bar and the remainder of time is spent in our home in Everett. It's tough to live out of two different places, but the smaller scale of a 35 foot fifth wheel compared to a 3 bedroom home with a huge yard makes Gold Bar a much more relaxing place to spend my retirement time.

Circle Loom Knitting

Today I tried loom knitting for the first time. Very easy, fast, and enjoyable. I finished these two hats in only a few hours, and have now started a pair of adult slippers. I don't like my choice of colors on the beige one, but that's how we learn, through our mistakes. I'll pay more attention to colors next time.

A Visitor

This friendly little doe came right up to the edge of our yard yesterday while we were standing out on our deck.

Susan Huff's Block - My Work

This is the work I did on Susan Huff's block. I used varigated silk ribbon on the rose swag and tiny size 15 seed beads on the feather stitched seam line. This is a lovely block and I can't wait to see the finished piece. Some of the girls in this round roubin have stitched together for several years and there is talk of getting another round going as soon as this one is done. If you haven't ever joined a round robin, may I sugest that you try one. There is no better way to learn, than to see others work up close.

Janies Black RR Block

I've finished my work on Janies lovely block. I used delica beads and stitched an edging on the wired ribbon pansy. I also used sequins, beads, and a lazy daisy stitch to complete the seam treatment just under the pansy. The pink SRE branch above the pansy is done with hand dyed silk ribbon. I added a tiny bumble bee made from delica beads.

Beaded scissors case

I spent my day making this cute little scissor case for my youngest daughter. Like me, she also enjoys handwork and I'm sure she'll enjoy this 2 1/4 inch scissor and fob. Tiny enough to stick in a small tote, but big enough to do the job.
